give love on christmas day {shop}
Loving all of this love jewelry. It’d make a fantastic romantic Christmas gift for that special someone. You already know I am obsessed with the Tiffany love necklace, but there are so many other fun options out there as well. From funky to feminine, there’s love for everyone at every budget.

{watch} christmas flicks
I love curling up by the tree and watching a holiday movies. Here are my must-sees each December.
Muppet Christmas Carol – Love the muppets, love Michael Caine.
White Christmas – is there anything more fantastic than Bing Crosby singing White Christmas? I don’t think so. I love this movie.
The Year Without A Santa Claus – classic kitsch.
Christmas Vacation – HILARIOUS.
A Christmas Story – probably my favorite. This movie always cracks me up and it’s definitely the most quotable.
A Charlie Brown Christmas – the score is what makes this one. Definitely a must-see.
NYCB’s Nutcracker – I’ll watch any Nutcracker on t.v., but this version is my favorite. As far as I am concerned, you can’t have Christmas without the Nutcracker.
Holiday Inn – another Bing Crosby classic. Although, Fred Astaire’s dancing is what makes this one special. I love him.
It’s A Wonderful Life – everyone’s favorite feel good movie.
Miracle on 34th Street (original and remake) – The original is so special, but I think that the remake with Dylan McDermott is pretty good too. That little girl is adorable.
Elf – Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel are adorable.
I know, that’s quite a list! Which are your favorite holiday movies?
thanksgiving {eat}s
We’re spending Thanksgiving with Husband’s family, but I like to bring some of my own family dishes along. My grandma always made this velveeta broccoli casserole topped with ritz crackers. As a general rule, I don’t eat velveeta (yes, I know, it isn’t even really cheese), but I grew up eating it on Thanksgiving, and if nothing else, I am a firm believer in tradition.
I’ll also be doing the baking. Pumpkin and apple pies. YUM.
Since we liked it so much, I’m making this pumpkin pie again.
And I bought this new pie dish for the apple pie.
The salesman at Williams Sonoma told me it’d change my life… I’ll let you know if it happens.
I also bought the fall version of these to decorate the apple pie. They were already on sale for $10 last night.
Happy, happy Thanksgiving! xoxo Sarah

{decorate} tree skirts
Husband and I are looking for a new tree skirt this year.
We have older versions of these stockings from Ballard Designs (in stripes and ikat, not polka dots):
And Deniro has his own, of course:
I am kicking myself because Ballard used to make a coordinating ikat tree skirt, but now all they offer is this cheetah version, and I don’t like it..
So, I’ve been scouting other options.
I like the simplicity of this Angelique Tree Skirt at Crate & Barrel.
I also like the velvet tree skirts at Pottery Barn.
and the Bird Decoupage tree skirt, although Husband would probably nix it.
This Poinsettia Tree Skirt at Garnet Hill is gorgeous.
I just feel like there aren’t enough good options! Any suggestions for where to find a simple, chic tree skirt? I would think about making one, but I’ve taken on enough holiday projects this year…
CFDA fashion fund awards {style}
The CFDA Fashion Fund Awards were last night and, appropriately, there were some fabulous dresses.
These three were the standouts, in my opinion.
Carey Mulligan can do no wrong as far as I am concerned (as I posted here), and she looked flawless last night in Chanel (and can we discuss the brillance of her casting as Daisy in Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming Great Gatsby!?).
Kim Kardashian can sometimes err on the side of too sexy, but last night she was a gorgeous modern day Cleopatra in Zac Posen.
And Leighton Meester was lovely and fresh in black and white Prabal Gurung.
You can see more pictures and read about the winners here.
thanksgiving what to {wear}
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and while you can’t bake your pumpkin pie this far in advance, you can plan your outfit. I always think chic, but comfy for Thanksgiving. After overindulging in the feast, you’ll be glad you skipped the tight dress and reached for something more forgiving.
Here are some looks to inspire your Thanksgiving attire. These festive looks incorporate the best of the season: velvet, shimmer, and tweed.

{shop} triwa watches
Martha Stewart has been wearing one of these Triwa watches on her show. It’s a Swedish company whose founders wanted to make stylish, affordable wrist watches. I love them. Fantastic colors and most are under $200.
My favorite is this Turquoise Flamingo. I like the gold and swarovski crystal accents.
I also like the Coral Flamingo, Greystone Chrono, and Rose Gold Chrono.
You can buy your own here.
Happy Weekend! xoxo
