{decorate} with owls

My fabulous friend Denise has been into owls for quite some time (she gave me an adorable cloisonné owl necklace for my birthday a few years ago), and it seems like the home decor stores have finally jumped on her bandwagon.  Check out all of these adorable owl accents for the home.

{decorate} with throws

It must be the forcast for the cool temperatures this weekend, but judging by my recent Follow Me on Pinterest pins, I am obsessing about a lovely throw for the living room sofa.

I’d like one of these –

But, since that fabulous Hermes Avalon Blanket will set you back a cool $1,225, here are some other, more afforable options I am loving right now.

Love that these in2green throws are made from recycled cotton yarns and made in the USA.  How great are the patterns/colorways?

Also, HUGE fan of Jonathan Adler’s Richard Nixon Throw.

COCOCOZY does incredible cotton throws (made in the USA).

And these herringbone throws from Brahams Mount (from Maine) look really cozy.

Which would you like to curl up with?

Happy Weekend!

{decorate} the dining room

Our new chandelier was installed in the dining room yesterday and I am in LOVE.  Our previous ceiling fixture was of the boob variety –

So, we replaced it with this Candice Olson Shelby Chandelier –

And here’s what it looks like installed –

It’s the perfect size in our little dining room.  Since we’ve moved in, we’ve added new wallpaper:

Amy Butler Laceworks.

West Elm Silk Drapes (now on super sale).

Crystal ball curtain rods (Martha for Home Depot).

and area rug by flor (Martha’s faux bois design, which is looks like they’ve sold out of!).

We just need to paint and we can call the dining room finished!

{decorate} jonathan adler santorini collection

LOVE the new Santorini Collection from Jonathan Adler.  Bold, glossy teal and yellow porcelain with gold accents.  It is totally fabulous.

I’d like this yellow Persephone Bowl for our bedroom.

And I’d like this Iris Tray for the library shelf in our living room.Check out the rest of the collection here.

{decorate} j schatz planters and bird feeders

So, I am kind of overwhelmed with the idea of gardening and landscaping in our new yard (and believe me, it needs A LOT of work), but I think I could handle caring for plants in hanging planters.  These planters by J Schatz are so cool!  I think I’d like one for hanging on each side of our front door.

Also loving the fantastic hummingbird feeders and bird houses.

{decorate} the bedroom

Just because we haven’t moved in yet, doesn’t mean I haven’t started obsessing about decorating the new house.   Lately, it’s been all about our bedroom.

I documented my search for new bedding back in January, and after much cajoling, I convinced Husband that we really needed the Peacock Duvet from DwellStudio (I also found an online code for 15% off, which didn’t hurt my argument).

I also just ordered this bedskirt and these monogrammed pillows in espresso from Pottery Barn (both on a great sale).  I think they will look fab with our peacock bedding and brown velvet headboard.

And finally, I bought this Thomas Paul rug on Overstock (sadly, they have sold out).  Isn’t it great!?

I cannot wait to move in, put it all together, and post the pictures.  We still need some other pieces: side tables, lamps, and maybe a bench.  I  have my eye on these mirrored side tables at Target.

And I have an idea for turning some blue vases into lamps, so stayed tuned!

new house

So I’ve been MIA for a while… Husband and I are buying an adorable house and there has been lots of stress. BUT, we close on April 27 and we are getting very excited.

Here it is:

I’m especially excited about our fireplace, hardwood floors, and vintage black and white bathroom.

It is going to be so much fun decorating and sharing it all on this blog!

{decorate} jonathan adler ‘design your own’

We all love Jonathan Adler and his “happy-chic” aesthetic, but now you can design your own rugs, pillows, tote bags, and throws!  SO MUCH FUN.  Take your favorite Adler design and personalize it with your initials and preferred colors.

new bedding {decorate}

After a recent dog-related disaster, we are in need of new bedding.

We had gotten this lovely set from Restoration Hardware as a wedding gift, but they sadly don’t make it anymore (sidenote: what is up with the new Restoration Hardware? Everything is grey and burlap.  Not a fan.).

Now, I’m on the hunt for something new.  We have a chocolate brown velvet headboard to consider, but that’s pretty neutral.  I was hoping to go organic, but I’m having trouble finding something that husband and I both like.

LOVE the Amy Butler organic bedding I blogged about here, but it is definitely too feminine for our bedroom.

I really like this duvet at Plover Organic, but it is expensive.

I also like this one, which is on sale, but of course only available in twin size.

I LOVE this non-organic DwellStudio Peacock Duvet Set in Citrine.

I’m not sure husband would be on board though…

He preferred it in Dove:

I also like this banded hemstitch duvet at Pottery Barn.

And I like that it can be monogramed, but I think I was hoping for some pattern this time around.

What are your favorite sources for bedding?  I need some inspiration!
