{decorate} with throws

It must be the forcast for the cool temperatures this weekend, but judging by my recent Follow Me on Pinterest pins, I am obsessing about a lovely throw for the living room sofa.

I’d like one of these –

But, since that fabulous Hermes Avalon Blanket will set you back a cool $1,225, here are some other, more afforable options I am loving right now.

Love that these in2green throws are made from recycled cotton yarns and made in the USA.  How great are the patterns/colorways?

Also, HUGE fan of Jonathan Adler’s Richard Nixon Throw.

COCOCOZY does incredible cotton throws (made in the USA).

And these herringbone throws from Brahams Mount (from Maine) look really cozy.

Which would you like to curl up with?

Happy Weekend!

PRADA. This collection was so much fun. Punchy colors, lovely silhouettes, a fun 50s vibe. And the most fabulous shoes.

And the shoes… Bananas!

spring 2012 rtw: part 5

The ready to wear shows continued in London and my two favorites were Burberry Prorsum and Jonathan Saunders.

Burberry Prorsum showed gorgeous mid-calf skirts in deep muted colors with fabulous accents.

Loved the platforms, hats and huge bags.

Jonathan Saunders also showed mid-calf lengths and platforms, but his color palette was definitely Palm Beach – coral, aqua, lime, and yellow. Fabulous.

{decorate} the dining room

Our new chandelier was installed in the dining room yesterday and I am in LOVE.  Our previous ceiling fixture was of the boob variety –

YUCK.

So, we replaced it with this Candice Olson Shelby Chandelier –

And here’s what it looks like installed –

It’s the perfect size in our little dining room.  Since we’ve moved in, we’ve added new wallpaper:

Amy Butler Laceworks.

West Elm Silk Drapes (now on super sale).

Crystal ball curtain rods (Martha for Home Depot).

and area rug by flor (Martha’s faux bois design, which is looks like they’ve sold out of!).

We just need to paint and we can call the dining room finished!

{style} 2011 emmy awards red carpet

Did you watch the Emmys last night?  I like Jane Lynch but I think they were pretty boring overall.  And maybe I just watch too much Bravo, but I have never heard of some of these shows – Big Bang Theory? What is that about?  And why don’t the actors from Mad Men ever win? I think that is the best show on television.

Anyway, here’s my take on the red carpet.

What’d you think about Gwyneth’s middrift baring dress? I sort of dug it. She looks fantastic, as usual and I really liked the black lace and her fab link bracelets.

I think Emily Blunt rarely makes a misstep. I liked this navy Elie Saab gown. She is gorgeous.

Kate Winslet looked incredible.  Husband was basically drooling.  Love the fit and love the red!

Sofia Vergara also looked amazing in red.  Love those earrings too!

I don’t usually like Evan Rachel Wood, but she looks fantastic in this black sequin Elie Saab gown. Love the cap sleeves.

Another gorgeous girl in red – LOVED Lea Michele in red Marchesa.

Cat Deely’s dresses are one of my favorite things about SYTYCD.  She looked great last night. Love this Monique Lhuillier gown, her loose locks, and bronze clutch.

Did I forget any of your favorites? Who’d you think was best dressed?

spring rtw 2012: part 4

Isaac Mizrahi showed some really pretty, girly dresses for Spring.  And since you know I basically love anything with a bow on it, I am dying over that pink dress.

Christian Siriano‘s Spring collection was gorgeous. I love the acid green/nude color combination.

L’Wren Scott‘s show was sort of uneven, but I dug the lady-like looks as well as the fantastic black ensembles.

Happy Weekend! xoxo S

spring rtw 2012: part 3

So, so many gorgeous looks at Oscar de la Renta‘s show.  Loving the bold, bright colors, gorgeous ball gown skirts, and chic sheath dresses.  There were also some incredible gold looks, as well as some classic black and white, and a super fun dash of fringe.

Marchesa is always super dramatic and gorgeous and this collection followed suit. Fantastic silky fringe and gorgeous gunmetal, white and smokey lilac. Swoon.

spring rtw 2012: part 2

Tory Burch gave her first runway show this year and it was fantastic. I loved the 20s vibe and the flat shoes are so FAB.

Love me some J.Crew, obviously, and the Spring 2012 collection looks great, especially the sunny yellow pants and shorts.

Rodarte is always weird and wonderful.  This show had heavy references to Van Gogh – there were starry night swirls and bold yellow sunflowers on dresses.  I guess I have an aversion to those patterns, because none of my favorite looks include them!  I prefer these sleek pants and flowing chiffon dresses.

Stay tuned for Part 3! xo S

spring 2012 rtw: part 1

And they’re off!  The Spring shows are underway in New York, and I am loving the beautiful colors and fun florals.  If I were to place an order for my favorites so far (provided I had somewhere to wear these fab clothes), they are as follows:

From Marc by Marc Jacobs: great swimwear and lovely print dresses.

From Rachel Zoe: totally chic pants and seperates.

From Reem Acra: gorgeous print satin.

From Jenny Packman: possibly my favorite show – love love love these pretty, feminine styles.

From Carolina Herrera: sleek elegance. Love that slate blue pant.

From Rachel Roy: easy, chic seperates.

From DKNY: bold poppies and floppy hats!

From Tracey Reese: rompers and jumpsuits.

From Lela Rose: great color blocking and easy shapes.

From Victoria Beckham: bold shapes and leather leggings.

And from Zac Posen: drama and glamour!

Which looks are you loving for Spring?
