{wear} color block shoes

The Christian Louboutin shoes I posted yesterday inspired me to search for other (and maybe less expensive) color blocked shoes.  It seems to be a trend for spring/summer and it’s definitely a fun one!  I’ve always loved a colored shoe, and these are a great way to incorporate some bold personal style into your look.

Love these Sergio Rossi Colorblock Wedges (sorry, not much less expensive).

These heels from Giuseppe Zanotti are also amazing (and also too expensive).

These Gabriella Rocha Sandi Thong Sandals are a more subtle color block.  They are perfectly casual for the beach.

LOVE this pink and green Donald J Pliner Idelle sandal.  Check out the amazing heel!

Love this Colourblock Wedge at Boden.  So much fun!

The Nine West Yessa has a great pop of bright yellow.

These Bettye Muller Heirloom Wedges have great color blocking.  I love the espadrille/suede contrast.

The Dani Neon Leather Heels at J.Crew have a surprising hot pink strap.  Love.

These Elise Sandals from Faryl Robin looks super comfortable.  Wouldn’t they look great with shorts or a flowy summer dress?

LOVE the pink, grey, yellow combination in this Betsy Johnson Lavant T-Strap.

These Matt Bernson Gladiator Sandals are also pink and grey, but in a totally boho way.  Love these.

I hope you are inspired to incorporate some bold footwear into your spring/summer wardrobe!

{inspire} christian louboutin patent bianca slingback

I am DYING over these Christian Louboutin Patent Leather Bianca Slingbacks.  They come in black and black/coral, but I am loving the nude/yellow combination.  They are absolutely gorgeous and I’d wear them with everything (which only seems appropriate when they go for $755).

They seem to be sold out everywhere in this color combo (not that I was going to order them, don’t worry, hubby).

{wear} studs

for your ears, that is. 😉  Stud earrings are my favorite.  I feel silly in big earrings, and I think that studs give any outfit a polished look.  I also tend to love super-sized necklaces, rings, and bracelets, so I have to tone it down somewhere!

These gumdrop studs from Kate Spade are my favorite.  I have a pink pair, but would sort of like a pair in each color.  They are on the big side, but they are sparkly and look great with everything.  I really dig them in black.

I also like the new Kate Spade square studs.  Especially in this golden hue.

These Crystal devoté earrings at J.Crew are amazing.

These precious knot studs at Banana Republic are really great.  I think they have a retro vibe.

I’ve been admiring these crystal ball stud earrings at Target for a while.  I don’t think the online picture does them justice, they are much prettier in person.

Anthropologie has a lot of really cute studs.  I like these wind wheel posts.

And these parrots are hilarious.

Cheers!

{wear} flower corsages

I love the look of a big flower pinned onto a jacket, dress, or even a tank top.  So chic, and so much fun!

This antique corsage by twigs and honey is beautiful.  Myra, the designer, made hair pieces for all my bridesmaids, and her work is beautiful.  The combination of textures and materials is really great.

I came across these brooches on Etsy. I like how the glass beads are used in the center of the flowers.  And the prices are great!

I came across the designer Emersonmade on one of my favorite blogs, Elements of Style and her flower corsages are just lovely.  The extra-large size is super chic and I like that they are made out of linen, which is kind of unexpected.  I especially like the “cheeky pink big wild rose”.  Isn’t it fabulous!?

Ann Taylor Loft has a cute, summery flower pin.

Flower Pin

I love the Full Bouquet Clip at Anthropologie.  It’s large, but not overwhelming.

I LOVE the corsages at ban.do.  They are pricey, but so chic and so much fun!  I especially love this Lucille Corsage, which is made from all vintage flowers.  Totally unique.

How do you like to wear a flower corsage?

{shop} new @ j.crew

I noticed that the new merch for April is on the j.crew website and there are definitely some drool-worthy pieces.  Here are my picks from the new arrivals:

I LOVE this Papillon waterfloral pastiche blouse.  Isn’t it lovely?  The ruffles and the colors are fantastic.  So spring-y.

This studded tunic (you know I love a tunic) is perfectly chic casual wear.  I love it with shredded denim like they’ve styled it on the site.  I also think it’d look great with wide-leg pants.

Dying for this Bazaar tunic dress (I know, I know, another tunic).  I think this is perfect vacation wear.  So breezy and fun.

This FENTON/FALLON™ for J.Crew Carrington chain and needle necklace is AMAZING.  It’s sort of rocker-chic but would look great with preppy basics.

And I would like this Glamour Cocktail Ring.

These Rainy Day Ballet Flats are such a brilliant idea!  Perfect for when it seems too warm for wellies.  They are ideal for rainy summer days.  So cute!  I dig them in hot pink.

Um, J.Crew, you know I love you, but we need to talk about these… WTF?

I will not be buying the overalls.

{shop} rue La La

I’ve known about Gilt Group for a while, but a co-worker just turned me on to Rue La La as well.  It’s the same premise as Gilt Group – designer inventory on sale for a short period of time at deep discounts.  Gilt Group has a lot of super high-end designers, so even the discounted prices can be steep, but Rue La La seems to have a lot more mid-range designer sales.  There is some cute stuff in the Michael by Michael Kors sale right now.

This white ankle pant was originally $106, now $39.

This adorable pink dress was $129, now $49.

There are also tons of menswear and accessories.

It’s by invitation only, but you can sign-up here: Rue La La.

{decorate} blanka iconic TV posters

I love these posters by Blanka.  They each feature a t.v. show and the graphics are incredible.  Super pared-down but immediately evocative of the show they feature.  Some of them are also kind of hilarious (see Nip/Tuck).

Here are my favorites.

Sex and the City:

Mad Men:

30 Rock:

The Sopranos:

Nip/Tuck:

Wouldn’t these look great in a t.v. room?  Fun but chic.

anna wintour {style}

I just watched The September Issue last night (I know, I know, it took me a long time to finally see it!).  It was a great documentary.  So much fun to see how they put the magazine together and I loved Grace Coddington.  She was very funny and candid.  Anna Wintour looked amazing throughout.  She has great personal style.  She knows what works for her and she sticks to it.  Print dresses and skirts, that perfect bob, her big black sunglasses, and a fabulous necklace.  She wore this huge citrine necklace throughout the documentary that I would die for.  I just wish she didn’t wear so much fur!

{wear} tunics

I think everyone needs a tunic for spring/summer.  So cute with white jeans and sandals, over a bathing suit, or dressed up with bold gold jewelry and heels.  I just bought a great bright pink Tory Burch with navy trim on ebay that I cannot wait to wear!

This tunic from Boden is super cute and summery.  Perfect for the beach.

This Single tunic at net-a-porter is so bright and colorful.  I love the beading.

I love the classic navy and white combination in this Quotation: 525 America tunic.

Lily Pulitzer does the perfect preppy tunic.  I like that this one is a dress and has a belt.

This Dana Buchman tunic at Kohl’s is super cute AND a great price!

This Style & Co at Macy’s is adorable. I love the pale blue and black linen combo.

This yellow ikat tunic would look fantastic on my mom.  So mom, if you are reading, you may want to order.

And of course, no one does them better than Tory.

She even does mini-tunics for the little ones. ADORABLE.
